1967- Australian Mercantile Bureaux & Agency P/L – (AMBA) & AMBA Credit Services P/L established as debt collection and commercial credit information operations by R Barton a CPA and J Porter & G Petersen previously employed as senior executives of Dun & Bradstreet Australia.
Under the current management, AMBA grew to provide solutions across Australasia and the Pacific in the areas of credit assessment, debt recovery, litigation management and management of credit risk for organizations dealing with both consumers and business.
AMBA pioneered the introduction of external debt collection services to a number of industries, including telecommunications and utilities being the initial debt collection service provider for Telecom/Telstra and Sydney Water.
1996 - AMBA Pacific Limited established in PNG to introduce commercial credit information services into PNG and provide debt collection services for local credit providers and exporters into the region. Additional services include underwriting and claims support for the export insurance industry active in the Pacific.
2000 - Australian operations sold to ASX listed RMG Limited.
2003 - Consulting services established,
2005 – Australian debt collection operation re-established in 2005 as a joint venture with the Arms Group, bringing together management and key personnel with many of the clients that enjoyed our commitment to service prior to the sale in 2000.
2009 – Management buy-out of the Australian debt collection joint venture and rebranding of debt collection and consulting services January 2009 to AMBA Commercial Collections and AMBA Commercial Consulting
